Tral, June 26 (KNO) : A militant who is believed to be belonging to Ansar Gazwat ul Hind hae been killed in an encounter between government and militants in forests of Branpathri in Kahlil Tral area of south kashmir's Pulwama district.
Earlier after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants joint team forces including army's 42 RR, CRPF and SOG launched search operation in the area, a police official told KNO.
On intensifying search towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces which was Retaliated triggered encounter, he said
During exchange of fire a militant has been killed, dead body has been recovered and identification is being ascertained, he further added. He further said that search operation is underway in the area
In wake of gunfight internet services have been snapped in the Awantipora Police district. Meanwhile clashes have also erupted between protestors and government forces in Tral town.(KNO)
